The C-172 is a large Park Flyer, but is slow and docile, so can be flown in smaller venues. The model is of all wood construction with Vac-Formed plastic Cowl, Wheel Pants and Spinner, and requires intermediate building skills; some “stick framing” experience would be very helpful.
Flying the C-172 requires only intermediate flying skills as well, and would make a terrific first flap equipped scale model. For those relaxing late day flying sessions, the C-172 looks great floating around the calm evening skies.
The short kit contains 3 highly detailed 36” X 48” plan sheets with parts I.D. sheets and 12 laser cut (10 balsa 2 plywood) sheets and the Vac-Formed plastic Cowl and Wheel Pants. Patterns are provided for the windshield and cabin windows as well as a detailed list of additional materials required to complete the model, plus assembly instructions to aid in building and flying the model. Templates are also provided to make the gauges for accurately setting up the proper flap deflection for both take-off and landing modes.
