55"  Še$$n@ Ag Wagon

Build Thread

The Še$$n@ 188 Ag Wagon is a brand new design based on the early "no frills" Crop duster. Designed as a utilitarian hard working airplane, the Ag Wagon is probably among the best known of all the the light dusters out there.

The 1:9 scale model is set up for economical brushless electric power and 5 ch. R/C, and performs all the maneuvers its full scale counterpart will do on just a 2S LiPoly battery with flight durations in excess of 20 minutes.

Specifications:    Span 55"    Length 35"     Wing Area 363 sq. in.    Flying Weight 21.2 oz.     Wing Loading 8.5 oz. / sq. ft.

Power is an E-Flight Park 450 (980KV) Outrunner with a Thunderbird 18 ESC, an APC 11-7E prop and a 2s 2170 Flight Power battery.

Guidance is 5 ch. R/C -- Rudder, Aileron, Elevator, Throttle, & Flaps. The Ag Wagon is set up using 4 sub-micro servos and a Spektrum AR6000 Rx.

The Ag Wagon flies exactly as expected. Control input is smooth and well mannered, and leaves you with the feeling that you're in complete control. The model is rock solid stable, yet is very nimble on the controls. The flaps are also very effective and will allow the model to be flown very slowly, yet the controls remain effective all the way through the speed range. But the best part of all this is that the ailerons remain completely effective, and produce so little adverse yaw, even with the flaps at full deflection that using the rudder is truly optional throughout the entire speed range. And that's what makes the Ag Wagon such a pure joy to fly.
